Meet Dr. Shok
About
Upon graduation, Dr. Shok served in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps at a Marine Base in North Carolina. After two years of active duty, he returned to the University of Pittsburgh Dental School for a three-year graduate residency program in orthodontics. He graduated in 1983 and established his home and practice in Meadville, PA.
In 1995, he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. This distinction is held by fewer that 25 percent of orthodontists nationwide. ABO certification represents the culmination of five to ten years of written and oral examinations and independent expert review of actual treated patients.
Dr. Shok has been a guest lecturer at several nationwide symposiums dealing with orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. Additionally, he speaks several times each year for the University of Pittsburgh where he holds an appointment as a part-time clinical instructor of orthodontics at the UPMC/Pittsburgh Dental School.

Dr. Shok maintains a full- time practice in Meadville, PA and also has a branch office in Titusville, PA. His practice is devoted to all problems dealing with bite or growth abnormalities in both adults and children. He specializes in the use of the new Damon System, which has revolutionized the orthodontic profession. He has also treated patients with sleep apnea problems and imbalances in the Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ) for the past 20 years.
